Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity today, with significant impacts on everyday life. This phenomenon is caused by increased greenhouse gas emissions due to human activities, such as the use of fossil fuels and deforestation. One of the real consequences of climate change is an increase in global temperatures, which causes extreme phenomena such as heat waves, floods and droughts. Extreme temperature supplementation has a direct impact on public health. Heat-related illnesses such as heat stroke, respiratory disorders and mental health problems are on the rise. Apart from that, the spread of infectious diseases, such as malaria and dengue fever, is also triggered by climate change which affects mosquito habitats. The agricultural sector, as one of the bases of human life, has also experienced a major impact. Changes in rainfall patterns and erratic temperatures disrupt agricultural productivity. Water scarcity is a problem in areas experiencing drought, causing crop yields to decline, leading to high food prices and the potential for famine. On the other hand, marine ecosystems that are threatened by global warming can have an impact on global food security. Ocean warming and acidification disrupt the survival of fish and other marine organisms. As a result, communities that depend on marine products for their livelihoods risk losing a vital source of income. Climate change also affects human migration. Citizens living in heavily affected areas are often forced to leave their homes, creating internal and international migration. This can cause social tension and conflict in destination areas, as well as worsen the humanitarian situation. Infrastructure development is also affected. Increasingly frequent floods and storms can damage construction projects, increasing maintenance and repair costs. Governments and policy makers around the world are faced with the challenge of building infrastructure that can withstand extreme climaxes. Failure to address climate change could trigger detrimental chain impacts on the global economy. When key sectors such as agriculture and fisheries are threatened, poverty and social instability will increase, exacerbating existing inequalities in society. Mitigation and adaptation programs are needed to reduce the impacts of climate change. The use of renewable energy, reforestation and sustainable management of water resources are important steps in achieving environmental sustainability. Apart from that, education and public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation are also very important to achieve positive change. As part of a global community, international cooperation is key in addressing this issue. International agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement show progress, but implementation on the ground remains a challenge. Only with collective awareness and joint action can we face the impacts of climate change which continue to threaten human life.
